SK Communications is back as SK2^X!

In late 2011, Apple expressed interest in acquire SK Communications for the purpose of undertaking several research and development projects. Stuart and the employees eventually agreed with Apple’s terms, and SK Communications, Inc. was purchased by Apple. At Apple, Stuart and his team researched new sensing technologies and created prototypes and new technology demonstrations.

In 2014, with the initial Apple research projects completed, Stuart left Apple to go back to doing what he loves - bringing engineering talent together to create new products. The new firm is SK2^X. The “2” is a reference to the post-Apple reincarnation of SK Communications. The “X” implies experiments and inventions.

Kai Medical introduces the Kai Spot Model KMS 200 non-contact respiratory rate spot check. SK Communications created the industrial, mechanical, antenna, RF circuits, electronics, and software framework of this product.

All Palm webOS phones (Pre, Pixi, Pre 2, Veer, and Pre 3) incorporate Touchstone inductive charging technology developed for Palm by SK Communications.

Simco-Ion introduces the AeroBar MP Model 5625, Modulated Pulse Ionizing Bar for efficient elimination of static charge in flat panel manufacturing and related applications. The novel electronics and software of this product were developed by SK Communications, and were recently awarded US patent 7,889,477 High voltage power supply for static neutralizers.
